Eco-retreat accommodation Mapua, Nelson
Our three cottages on the shore of the Waimea Inlet were built for apple pickers in the 1950s. These days the apple orchard has been transformed into a haven of organic fruit trees, vegetable gardens and regenerating native coastal forest. It's a great place to relax into the rhythm of the tides, the wildlife, the weather, yet still be only 5 minutes drive from cafés and restaurants in the coastal village of Mapua.
The three very private and tranquil self-contained cottages have been carefully renovated, retaining their simplicity and natural charm while adding contemporary comforts. Each has fast and reliable fibre internet.
We love it here and hope you’ll come and visit!
What our guests say
A million thanks to you for the unforgettable time we spent at your place. We have travelled a lot in our lives and your Apple Pickers’ Cottages is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. And as well as the beautiful landscape, it is your merit for having created such a peaceful and lovely place.
It was hard for us to leave
Understated luxury. Peaceful. Wonderful outlooks, the tides, the trees, the bath…. We are so grateful!
The most understated and perfect formula for relaxation.
Loved everything ....the changing tides, birds, trees, tranquility, simplicity, comfort, quails, recycling routines, perfect hosts. Came for 6 days sightseeing and ended up foraging locally and staying put in paradise
The location was stunning. The surroundings were so peaceful and relaxing, gorgeous sunrises, native birds, it was close to local attractions yet felt hidden from the world. A truly relaxing weekend retreat!
